Our Surface Grinding Attachment allows you to accurately control the thickness of your workpiece and grind precises tapers. Our machine boasts 13.75 inches of slide travel and with the included 4” contact wheel, it can accommodate a maximum stock thickness of 3.6”.

The 12.5” long x 2” wide magnetic chuck holds ferrous alloys, but we will be designing a small vise to allow you to work with wood, brass, and other non-magnetic materials.

The switchable magnets allow you to easily remove parts and grinding dust after you are done.

The dial indicator allows you to directly measure the depth of your cuts and our custom anti-backlash nut sucks up thread clearances to ensure you can always trust the indicator reading. Once you are at the desired depth, use the integrated brake to eliminate unintentional cut-depth changes.

The handles and knobs are where you are most connected with your machine, so we made sure they feel great. Our large billet aluminum handle feels rock solid, and our knurled aluminum knobs give you a confident and accurate grip. The speed knob allows you to quickly make large depth adjustments without repeatedly twisting your wrist.

The linear guideways are the skeleton of the surface grinder’s precision. Therefore, we chose premium profiled rails with recirculating roller elements and replaceable seals to ensure a long accurate life.

Our spark shield catches the majority of your grindings from shooting across your shop: containing mess and hazards.

You can also use this attachment with a small wheel holder to grind fullers, a platen to grind flat bevels, or a contact wheel to hollow grind. Adjustable stroke limits allow you to set a precise plunge location for your fullers and bevels.
